Position Details

Core Responsibilities

• Cleaning and Sanitization: Sweeps, mops, vacuums, and disinfects floors, classrooms, restrooms, cafeterias, and common areas. Restocks soap, paper towels, and other restroom supplies.
• Waste Management: Empties trash and recycling receptacles daily and disposes of materials properly.
• Maintenance and Repairs: Performs minor repairs, replaces light bulbs, and changes air filters. Reports major maintenance issues to facility managers or via work orders.
• Facility Security: Locks and unlocks doors, checks windows, and ensures the premises are secure at the end of shifts.
• Event Support: Sets up, arranges, and takes down furniture and equipment for school meetings, sports, and special events.
• Grounds and Weather Upkeep: Clears sidewalks, removes debris, and manages snow or ice removal depending on local climate needs.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Education: A high school diploma or GED certificate
• Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for long periods, bend, stoop, and lift moderate to heavy weights (frequently up to 50 pounds).
• Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check
• Skills: Basic knowledge of safe chemical handling, cleaning equipment operation, and general mechanical aptitude for minor building repairs.
