Junior Level Mechanic

Location: Livonia, MI

Pay: $19–$20/hour

Shift: PM Shift, 3:30 PM–Midnight

Schedule: Monday–Friday, with overtime as needed

Due to steady growth, Roush Contract Manufacturing has immediate openings for Entry-Level Mechanics at our Livonia, MI facility.

Our Contract Manufacturing Operation provides assembly services to many leading-edge companies in the automotive industry. Our products include off-road tactical military vehicles, autonomous/self-driving vehicles, electric vehicles, and other highly technical applications.

Because these are low-volume, highly technical projects, you’ll have the opportunity to work in an exciting environment and learn about cutting-edge automotive technology on a regular basis.

Full-time employment opportunities may be available to the right candidates.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of recent hands-on assembly experience in an automotive manufacturing environment
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Basic understanding of automotive systems
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical problems
• Mechanically inclined and eager to learn
• Ability to safely use manual tools and power equipment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written procedures
• Self-starter who is self-motivated and willing to learn
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent attendance
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as needed

Preferred Skills

• Previous automotive mechanic experience
• Automotive co-op experience
• Experience with automotive electrical systems

Tools

Candidates are encouraged to have a basic set of mechanic hand tools.
