Pay: $17.00/hour
Schedule: Monday-Friday | 3:30 PM - 12:00 AM
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Tulsa, OK

Small Parts Paint Prep Technician – Must-Have Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Must be able to pass an FAA/DOT drug test
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
  • Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Ability to use hand tools and small power tools
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic

Small Parts Paint Prep Technician – Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Small Parts Paint Prep Technician to prepare aerospace and manufactured components for painting and coating processes. This position is responsible for cleaning, sanding, masking, inspecting, and organizing small parts to ensure high-quality finishes and compliance with production standards. The ideal candidate takes pride in quality workmanship and understands the importance of precision surface preparation.

Small Parts Paint Prep Technician – Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Clean small parts to remove grease, oil, dirt, and contaminants prior to painting
  • Sand, buff, and smooth surfaces using hand tools and power tools
  • Apply masking materials, tape, plugs, and protective coverings to designated areas
  • Inspect parts before and after preparation to ensure quality standards are met
  • Identify defects or surface imperfections requiring additional preparation
  • Apply primers as required to promote proper paint adhesion and durability
  • Organize and handle parts carefully to prevent damage during processing
  • Prepare components for painting, coating, and finishing operations
  • Maintain prep tools, sanders, masking equipment, and workstations
  • Follow all safety procedures regarding chemical handling and PPE usage
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Support production schedules and quality objectives

Small Parts Paint Prep Technician – Additional Qualifications

  • Previous paint prep, sanding, masking, finishing, or manufacturing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of surface preparation techniques is a plus
  • Experience working with aerospace, industrial, or automotive parts is beneficial
  • Ability to identify surface defects and quality issues
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good communication and problem-solving skills

Small Parts Paint Prep Technician – Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
  • Frequent use of hands and arms for sanding, masking, and handling parts
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds as needed
  • Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive motions
  • Ability to work around paint preparation materials, dust, and shop equipment
  • Must be able to wear required PPE, including respirators, gloves, safety glasses, and hearing protection as required
  • Ability to maintain focus on detailed work for extended periods while meeting quality standards
