General Job Duties:

Specific Job Duties:

  • Monitor and analyze molding process performance for continuous improvement opportunities, researching and implementing cost reduction and product reliability solutions.
  • Train Process Techs, Mold Setters, and Color Coordinators
  • Assist in establishing process control limits and standard work instructions. 
  • Provide process information to support time studies and accounting.
  • Develop and implement processing and tooling standards that promote SMED principles. 
  • Assist in layout, tooling design, and programming robotics for automated part removal and other post-molding operations.
  • Make recommendations, plan, and suggestions that promote continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Identify and Implement cost reduction opportunities. 
  • Lead mold trials, PPAP submissions, and process validation (IQ/OQ/PQ)
  • Establish and maintain validated process parameters (scientific molding approach)
  • Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and customer-specific requirements.
  • Troubleshoot molding defects (short shots, flash, warpage, sinks, burns)
  • Support new product launches and APQP activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement to reduce scrap, cycle time, and downtime.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions (8D, CAPA)
  • Collaborate with tooling teams on mold design, modifications, and maintenance
  • Monitor and analyze process data to ensure stability and capability (Cp/Cpk)
