2nd Shift Label Inspector
Hours: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
Pay Rate: $15.00 per hour

Position Summary
The Label Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all product labels applied to food products are accurate, legible, and compliant with company quality standards and food safety regulations. This position plays a vital role in maintaining product integrity by inspecting labels throughout the packaging process to verify product information, lot codes, expiration dates, and packaging quality before products are released for shipment. Label inspection is an important part of maintaining compliance with food manufacturing regulations and quality assurance programs. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Inspect product labels for accuracy, readability, and proper placement. 
  • Verify that product names, ingredients, allergen statements, nutrition information, lot codes, expiration dates, and UPC/barcodes match production specifications. 
  • Ensure labels meet customer, company, FDA, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Remove and report products with incorrect, damaged, missing, or illegible labels. 
  • Perform routine quality checks throughout the production shift. 
  • Document inspection results and complete required quality records accurately. 
  • Notify supervisors and Quality Assurance personnel of labeling discrepancies or quality concerns. 
  • Assist with product changeovers to ensure the correct labels are being used. 
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). 
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures. 
  • Work closely with production, packaging, and quality teams to minimize labeling errors and product waste. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred. 
  • Previous manufacturing, packaging, or quality inspection experience is preferred but not required. 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify small discrepancies. 
  • Basic math and reading skills. 
  • Ability to accurately complete inspection documentation. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. 
  • Frequent use of hands for handling and inspecting products. 
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally. 
  • Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Work Environment
  • Food manufacturing facility with exposure to production equipment and conveyor systems. 
  • Temperature-controlled environment with varying levels of noise. 
  • Required use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including hairnets, beard nets (if applicable), gloves, hearing protection, and safety glasses as required. 
  • Must follow all company food safety, sanitation, and quality standards.
