Description

A leading design and fabrication company is seeking a Machine Operator Helper to support production by operating laser or plasma table equipment used to cut and process metal materials according to job specifications. The ideal candidate is a dependable, detail-oriented manufacturing professional with machine operating experience and the ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced fabrication environment. Working under general supervision, this role plays an important part in maintaining production flow, material accuracy, and quality standards.
 

  • Salary: $21–26/hr – DOE
  • Location: Houston, TX
  • Type of Position: Temp-to-Hire
  • Hours: Night Shift 2:00 pm - 10:00pm 


Responsibilities:

  • Operate laser and plasma table equipment to cut metal materials according to production requirements
  • Read and follow work orders, cut lists, drawings, and job specifications
  • Load, position, and align materials properly for machine operation
  • Monitor machine performance and make basic adjustments as needed during operation
  • Inspect cut materials for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications
  • Remove finished materials and stage them appropriately for the next step in production
  • Assist with material handling and support general production flow as needed
  • Perform basic equipment checks and report machine or quality issues to supervision
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Follow all company safety and quality procedures at all times


Requirements:

  • Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment preferred
  • Experience operating laser tables, plasma tables, or similar cutting equipment preferred
  • Ability to read work orders, drawings, and basic production specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Basic material handling experience in an industrial environment preferred
  • Ability to work safely in a fast-paced shop environment
  • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
  • Forklift or crane experience is a plus
  • Experience with Python machine is HUGE plus! 
  • CNC and welding background is a preferred.
