Maintenance Technician - Akron, OH - JOB 26-00391
Pay Range: $30.00 - $34.00/HR Full-Time Permanent Position with Benefits Shift: 2nd Shift 3:00pm – 11:00pm (M-F)
An Akron, Ohio Manufacturing Firm that seeks to hire an experienced 2nd Shift Facilities / Machine Maintenance Technician.
Responsibilities
Analyze mechanical, operational, and basic electrical/electronic problems on plant machinery; execute repairs and overhauls efficiently.
Perform scheduled PMs, changeovers, and running adjustments to minimize downtime and maintain maximum production quality.
Test machinery post-repair, clear jams, and ensure optimal operational performance before handing equipment back to production.
Fabricate custom components and parts when necessary while using standard trade hand and machine tools.
Strictly follow and enforce all company safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures for all energy sources.
Partner closely with Injection Molding and Finishing management teams to streamline production goals and address equipment vulnerabilities.
Requirements
High School Diploma / GED with Vocational Education (or higher) in machine repair, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
Minimum of 1 year of general industrial maintenance experience, OR equivalent education/Journeyman status in a maintenance discipline.
Knowledge of plastic injection molding machinery and finishing equipment. Ability to interpret technical manuals and follow detailed verbal/written blueprints.
Must possess your own hand tools.
Excellent arithmetic skills, sharp attention to detail, and the ability to exercise independent judgment with minimal supervision.
Outstanding reliability is a must due to the specialized nature of this role. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or alternative shifts as required.
