2ND SHIFT MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN NEEDED - LANSING, MICHIGAN AREA
A Leading Automotive Supplier in the Lansing, Michigan area needs a 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician. This is a Full Time, Permanent, Direct Hire Position offering Competitive Compensation, Bonus Potential, Good Benefits, Paid Holidays and Paid Vacation.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
This Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing basic maintenance duties related to the installation, troubleshooting and repair of assets. The tech will maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, preventative maintenance systems and processes.
Thorough knowledge and use of voltage meters, reading electrical schematics and measuring tools.
Install and maintain production machines and the plant facility s equipment.
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production.
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance of production equipment during scheduled downtime.
Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, basic troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
Read and interprets equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
Ability to read and interpret equipment electrical and hydraulic schematics, manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Diagnose, troubleshoot problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
Assure all safety devices are properly in place and utilized, Lockout/Tagout procedures are adhered to, PPE is worn correctly at all times, and reporting of any near-misses, injuries, or accidents occurs immediately.
Keep work area clean and orderly to prevent safety hazards.
Assure adherence to quality policies and procedures including acceptable work standards, customer specifications and IPI requirements, to also include participation in the creation and support of systems, documentation and actions to ensure continued conformance to Quality (IATF) and Environmental (ISO) management systems.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
At least 1 year experience working in Maintenance within a Manufacturing Environment.
Experience in automotive industry with emphasis on automation related equipment preferred.
At least 1 year of education related to skilled trades preferred.
Fundamental capacity to interpret mechanical, electric and pneumatic systems.
Able to anticipate and troubleshoot personnel and process abnormalities.
Working knowledge of SAP or related ERP system
Working knowledge in Microsoft Office.
Ability to work overtime as required.
Strong communication skills including written, verbal and listening.
Able to read, write and speak in English.
