Job Title: Manufacturing Assembler


Job Description


This role focuses on assembling building components such as walls, floors, trusses, stairs, and related structures in a controlled manufacturing environment. You will work on your feet in a production setting, framing under roof while meeting production quotas and maintaining high standards of safety and quality. The position involves regular use of hand and power tools and close collaboration with a small team on an assembly line.


Responsibilities


+ Assemble building components including wall panels, floor systems, trusses, stairs, and related structures in a manufacturing setting.

+ Work as part of a team of 3–4 people at assigned stations to build wall panels, trusses, and other prefabricated components.

+ Use tape measures accurately, including reading measurements down to 1/8 of an inch, to ensure precise cuts and assemblies.

+ Operate and handle nail guns, saws, table saws, and various hand and power tools safely and efficiently.

+ Follow established production processes and work at a fast pace to meet daily and weekly production quotas.

+ Maintain a strong focus on safety by following all safety programs, protocols, and guidelines in the shop.

+ Lift and move materials, including occasional lifts of up to 75 pounds, as needed during the shift.

+ Participate in assembly line and mechanical assembly tasks, including basic machine operation when required.

+ Interpret simple instructions, layouts, or basic blueprints as needed to complete assigned assemblies.

+ Collaborate with teammates and supervisors to maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area.

+ Provide and properly use required basic tools such as a tool belt, tape measure, utility knife, and framing hammer.

+ Complete required onboarding steps, including reviewing a virtual tour of the shop, position, and processes before starting.


Essential Skills


+ Ability to accurately read a tape measure down to 1/8 inch and successfully pass a tape measure test.

+ At least 3 months of experience using nail guns and saws in a production, construction, or similar environment.

+ Hands-on experience working with a variety of hand and power tools.

+ Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical and assembly processes.

+ Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-oriented team environment.

+ Ability to lift up to 75 pounds on occasion (typically 2–3 times per shift).

+ Ability and willingness to work 50 hours per week, including built-in overtime.

+ Willingness to provide basic tools on the first day or purchase them on-site with payroll deduction.

+ Willingness to review and confirm understanding of the virtual tour outlining the shop, position, and processes.

+ Reliability, strong work ethic, and commitment to safety and quality in all tasks.


Additional Skills & Qualifications


+ Framing or general construction experience is a plus.

+ Experience with rough carpentry, truss assembly, or commercial construction is beneficial.

+ Experience reading or working from blueprints is an advantage.

+ in general labor, mechanical work, or mechanical assembly is helpful.

+ Experience with assembly line work, machine operation, or forklift operation is a plus.

+ Comfort working with nail guns, table saws, and other shop equipment in a structured environment.

+ Ability to communicate and work effectively in a diverse team environment, including multilingual teams.

Work Environment


You will work in a manufacturing shop that produces prefabricated trusses and wall panels for field construction teams. The facility is very clean, spacious, well lit, and temperature controlled, providing a comfortable and organized production environment. Safety is a top priority, with established safety programs, clear protocols, and a strong safety culture guiding daily operations. Work is team-based, with groups of 3–4 people assigned to specific areas and multiple buildings dedicated to different products. The role follows a second-shift schedule of approximately 3:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., Monday through Thursday, resulting in a 48-hour workweek with 8 hours of built-in overtime each week. You will regularly use tools such as a tool belt, tape measure (25'), utility knife, framing hammer, nail guns, table saws, and other shop tools while working under roof in a production setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of St Paul, MN.


Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
