Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Warehouse Systems is hiring for a careful Forklift Operator to move racks, bundles, and material around our facilities. The forklift operator will operate a forklift with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. The job could involve driving around warehouses, storage spaces and other facilities. The forklift operator must be a responsible individual with great experience in driving industrial vehicles, specifically, a sit-down forklift. The goal will be to ensure that material and products will always be at the right place to achieve maximum efficiency.

Basic Job Functions:
  • Locate, pull, and bring orders using a sit-down forklift
  • Identify damages and report shortages or quality deficiencies
  • Transport raw materials to production workstations
  • Keep updated records of inventory and activity logs; keep track of inventory
  • Comply with company policies and legal guidelines
  • Help maintain a safe and orderly environment of the facilities
  • Other duties as assigned
>Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a sit-down forklift operator
  • Valid certification to operate forklifts required; we will also certify through company
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work any shift as required, overtime, weekends and holidays; must be able to work a modifiable schedule.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working for a manufacturing company
  • Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment
  • Basic math skills to keep track of inventory
