Join Sigma Systems as a Packaging Technician!
Sigma Systems is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Packaging Technician to join our manufacturing team in Athens, GA. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with manufacturing, packaging, production, or pharmaceutical experience who enjoy working in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.
In this role, you will operate packaging equipment, inspect and package vaccine products, maintain accurate cGMP documentation, and support production goals while following strict quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Label, inspect, and package finished vaccine products according to quality standards.
Operate packaging equipment including labelers, pick-and-place machines, heat tunnels, vision systems, and forklifts.
Perform equipment setup, changeovers, and basic troubleshooting.
Conduct accurate product inspections to ensure compliance with quality guidelines.
Complete batch records and production documentation in accordance with cGMP requirements.
Read, understand, and follow Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Prepare QA line clearances and support production line readiness.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Monitor production processes and report issues promptly to Shift Line Leaders or Supervisors.
Participate in daily team meetings and performance reviews.
Support inventory tracking and material usage documentation.
Cross-train in other departmental functions as needed.
Follow all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
Report unsafe conditions or practices immediately.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
2–3 years of manufacturing or production experience.
Experience operating production or packaging equipment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs regularly.
Basic computer and math skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to work the 2nd Shift (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM).
Preferred Qualifications
5+ years of manufacturing or packaging experience.
Forklift Certification.
Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food manufacturing, or medical device manufacturing experience.
Experience working in cGMP regulated environments.
