As a Pharmacy Technician, you'll support pharmacy operations under the supervision of a licensed Pharmacist. Your role is essential in ensuring accurate medication dispensing, managing inventory, and maintaining safety compliance. You'll collaborate closely with the pharmacy team to deliver excellent service and promote patient safety.
What You'll Do
As a Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for:
- Preparing, packaging, labeling, and dispensing medications accurately, verifying prescriptions to ensure correctness.
- Maintaining detailed records of medication preparations and patient orders, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Managing inventory by stocking shelves, operating automated dispensing systems, rotating stock, and checking expiration dates to ensure medication safety and availability.
- Operating pharmacy automation equipment, including autofill devices and repackaging tools, to streamline medication distribution processes.
What You'll Bring
The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- At least six (6) months of experience in a retail or hospital pharmacy setting.
- Strong data entry skills, including proficiency with 10 Key Data Entry.
- Basic typing and computer skills, familiar with common PC-based systems.
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician is not mandatory but strongly encouraged, especially when handling specialized equipment and processes.
