Printing Press Operator

Pay: $20-$24/hr. (Depending on experience level)

2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday (3pm to 1am)

{May train on 1st Shift and May work on weekends/holidays as needed}

JOB SUMMARY

The Press Operator is responsible for setting up and operating residential or commercial printing presses while maintaining production schedules and print quality. Operators monitor the press, make adjustments as needed, perform quality checks, and keep the equipment and work area clean and safe.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED.
  
• Previous press or machine operating experience preferred.
• Previous forklift experience preferred.
• Previous warehouse or production experience preferred.
• Ability to understand work orders, production schedules, and basic machine instructions.

Job Duties:

• Set up and operate the printing press.
• Make adjustments to speed, temperature, pressure, and ink as needed.
• Monitor the press during production to make sure everything is running properly.
• Check printed materials for quality, color, registration, and defects.
• Make corrections when print quality issues are found.
• Follow work orders and production schedules.
• Change patterns, cylinders, and other press parts as needed.
• Set up and use the rewind/unwind system.
• Collect print samples and inspect them during production.
• Clean and oil the press and perform basic maintenance.
• Help with minor repairs and report larger issues to maintenance.
• Complete required paperwork and production records.
• Keep the press and work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Clean up the press at the end of each job.
• Work overtime, weekends, or holidays when needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
