Position Overview
We are seeking a dependable Processing Operator 2nd Shift to join a growing pet food manufacturing team in Joplin. This position is responsible for operating and monitoring production equipment, maintaining product quality, supporting food safety standards, and ensuring efficient production throughout the shift.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Required Experience & Skills
High school diploma or GED preferred
Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred
Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Ability to follow detailed work instructions accurately
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operate and monitor processing equipment, including mixers, grinders, and conveyors
Measure and add ingredients according to production formulas and specifications
Monitor product quality and make adjustments as needed to maintain production standards
Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance concerns
Maintain accurate production records and documentation
Follow all company safety, food safety, and sanitation procedures
Clean and sanitize equipment and production work areas
Assist with material handling and movement of finished products
Work collaboratively with team members to achieve daily production goals
Preferred Qualifications
Previous food manufacturing or pet food production experience
Experience operating industrial processing equipment
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
Frequent bending, stooping, climbing, and material handling
Comfortable working in environments with noise, dust, varying temperatures, and pet food odors
Work Environment
Fast-paced pet food manufacturing facility
Exposure to dust, noise, and production equipment
Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required based on production needs
