Production Operator Responsibilities
- Perform repetitive machine and production process operations according to established procedures.
- Follow oral and written instructions, production procedures, correspondence, and safety guidelines.
- Operate manufacturing and material-handling equipment as assigned.
- Perform manual bag lifting and stacking.
- Operate pallet jacks and handcarts safely and efficiently.
- Perform packing and production-related activities.
- Make basic adjustments to processes or machinery as directed.
- Record and report production numbers when required.
- Maintain clean and orderly work areas through proper housekeeping and cleaning.
- Monitor production activities and remain alert to equipment, process, and safety issues.
- Accurately understand, record, and communicate detailed information.
- Work effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other team members.
- Follow all plant safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality, including being ready for the 6:00 AM shift report time.
- Perform repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Follow required PPE and hearing-protection procedures in designated areas.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
Candidates must be comfortable working in an industrial/manufacturing environment that may include:
- Repeatedly lifting and moving 50-lb. bags/materials
- Standing and performing repetitive physical activities
- Manual material handling
- Hot temperatures during summer months
- Cold temperatures during winter months
- Loud production areas where hearing protection is required
- Dusty areas, including feed-mill environments
- Bending, lifting, stacking, packing, and general housekeeping
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, but strong candidates may be considered without it.
- Previous experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, industrial, material handling, packing, or similar environments is preferred.
- Ability to repeatedly lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic math skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to understand, record, and communicate detailed information accurately.
- Strong work ethic and dependable attendance.
- Excellent punctuality and reliability.
