$2/hour Shift Differential when on Second Shift

Position Overview

As the 2nd shift Production Supervisor, you will partner with the Production Manager, production team, and machinists to execute manufacturing processes on 2nd shift. The 2nd shift Production Supervisor is responsible for deploying and allocating a small team and equipment, and ensuring production is completed as scheduled, within quality parameters. You'll also play an active role in hiring and training team members and enhancing processes and procedures.

This position is open due to an upcoming retirement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead small team of machine operators and machinists on 2nd shift. Evaluate performance, coach, train, and mentor as needed
  • Operate a machine as needed
  • Provide technical support, as needed, for items such as bill of materials, routings, set-up sheets, part set-up and fixturing, machining strategy, and process parameter selection
  • Monitor employee performance and attendance, partner with Human Resources as needed
  • Lead quality efforts; perform first article inspection, in-process inspections, and final inspections as needed
  • Ensure the safety and productivity of all employees on 2nd shift
  • Identify and suggest continuous improvements

Qualifications Required:

  • Five years of experience as a CNC Machinist; experience with lathes, horizontal and vertical mills
  • Proven leadership skills, strong communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using micrometers and calipers

Preferred:

  • Experience working in a leadership role
  • Experience with full life cycle manufacturing (from raw material to finished product)
  • Experience working with DMG, Haas, Mazak, and Murata CNC machines
