    Pay Rate: $25.00/hour

    Work Schedule: 2nd Shift 3:30 pm to midnight

    JOB SUMMARY:

    The Quality Control Inspector/EHS Specialist will be very hands-on while inspecting products at different phases to ensure products meet or exceed a given set of standards while also implementing and conducting EHS programs. Duties include but are not limited to: Maintaining Quality Control Processes, Analyzing the Results, Giving Feedback and Guidance to the Production and Engineering Team, and Perform Safety Assessments, Develop EHS Programs, and Ensure Guidelines are Met. The incumbent will exhibit strong organizational skills, drive to create and follow processes and is very disciplined. A strong quality control background is important.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Implement methods to inspect, test and evaluate the reliability of manufacturing processes, products and production equipment.
    • Develop and support comprehensive EHS programs and initiatives that comply with regulatory requirements to help promote employee participation and accountability, as well as conduct training in compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
    • Assist with the development of finished product and component receiving inspection procedures and requirements.
    • Inspect, test and/or measure materials, components, assemblies, etc. and compare these items to applicable requirements (drawings or approved process documentation).
    • Maintain quality control records (inspection records) in an accurate, well-organized and timely manner for easy retrieval and audit.
    • Participate in the review of design, manufacturing, purchasing and test documentation to ensure conformance to quality control standards. This can include review of drawings, spec sheets, production procedures, testing and inspection standards, supplier inspections and customer contract specifications.
    • Make recommendations regarding facilities, equipment personnel, procedures and systems to carry out quality control functions, as well as identify/implement improvement for the facility’s loss-prevention, emergency management, high-risk, and life safety programs.
    • Work with engineering and manufacturing to develop and implement quality control tests, inspect products at various stages and write reports documenting issues.
    • Manage first article, local supplier source inspections, final product inspection, and performing safety assessments for new product introductions.
    • Prepare and review quality metrics. Report serious or repeated failures or unreliability in quality of products. Recommends corrective actions or plans/programs for overall defect reductions in products.
    • Maintain test equipment and cleanliness of the Quality Assurance Lab that include responsibility for in-house calibration program.
    • Investigate root cause and corrective actions.
    • Assist with auditing, writing, revising and verifying quality standards and developing forms and instructions for recording, evaluating and reporting quality data, as well as participate in audits related to Environment, Health and Safety programs.
    • Monitor performance of quality control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.
    • Be willing to work within established guidelines for the continual improvement on Environmental, Health and Safety standards.
    • Establish, monitor and report on Key Performance Indicators, evaluate trends and provide improvement strategies.
    • Undertake and provide technical support for the site and be involved with other production activities as required to support the company objectives.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Education:

    • A degree/diploma in Science, Engineering, Health and Safety, or a related discipline is required.

     

    Experience:

    • Minimum five (5) years combined experience in the quality field such as a quality assurance technician, etc.
    • Metal manufacturing experience is required. 

     

    Other:

    • Strong desire to create and improve processes.
    • Keen attention to detail.
    • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications.
    • Ability to use measuring devices (gauges, meters and calipers).
    • Willingness to cross-train on environmental regulations.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, able to prioritize, organize/manage time, work independently and as part of a team, proficient in Microsoft Office, knowledge of data analysis. Knowledge of NetSuite MRP system is a PLUS.
