2nd Shift Quality Lab Technician

We are currently hiring for a 2nd Shift Quality Lab Technician position in Stow, Ohio. We’re looking for reliable candidates with quality control experience in a lab setting who are eager to support a growing specialty chemical manufacturer.

Hours
2:00pm – 10:30pm, Monday – Friday

Pay
$23.00 – $26.00/hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products following established SOPs to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Prepare samples and conduct laboratory analyses (e.g., HPLC, UV-Vis, IC, or other applicable methods).
  • Provide samples for internal teams (e.g., Sales, R&D) and customers as needed.
  • Assist with calibration and basic maintenance of lab equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment.
  • Follow and support company quality management systems and procedures.
  • Ensure proper documentation and data integrity within systems (ERP, LIMS, QT9, etc.).
  • Ensure traceability and proper handling of non-conforming materials.
  • Collaborate with Production and Product Development teams to resolve issues.

Minimum Requirements
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Science, Quality, or related field preferred OR high school diploma (or equivalent) with relevant experience.
  • 1–3+ years of laboratory or quality control experience preferred.
  • Experience in chemical manufacturing, pigments, or additives is a plus.
  • Experience with laboratory instrumentation (HPLC, UV-Vis, IC) preferred.
  • Knowledge of quality systems, SPC, and Lean principles.
  • Familiarity with ERP/LIMS systems (QT9, Acumatica, Empower, Chromeleon).
  • Basic math and data analysis skills.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to work in a laboratory and manufacturing environment, including rotating or extended shifts if required.
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds and move materials as needed.
  • Exposure to chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required.
  • Visual ability to perform detailed analytical work (close vision, depth perception, focus adjustment).

Nice to Have Skills
  • Experience working with specialty chemicals or manufacturing environments.
  • Prior calibration and maintenance experience.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols in chemical labs.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Relevant college degree in Chemistry or related field.
  • Laboratory experience in a manufacturing setting.

  • Ability to comply with safety and PPE protocols.
  • Ability to work on-site at our Stow location.
