    Job Description

    Job Summary

    The Quality Technician supports production by ensuring all automotive components meet customer, industry, and internal quality standards. This role is responsible for inspecting parts, identifying defects, performing measurements, and assisting with corrective actions to maintain high-quality products and continuous improvement.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of parts and assemblies.

    • Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM, and vision systems.

    • Interpret engineering drawings, control plans, work instructions, and GD&T.

    • Record inspection results and maintain accurate quality documentation.

    • Identify nonconforming materials and initiate containment and corrective actions.

    • Support root cause analysis using 5 Why, Fishbone, and problem-solving methods.

    • Assist with PPAP, APQP, FMEA, and control plan updates as needed.

    • Conduct layered process audits (LPA) and support internal/external audits (IATF 16949).

    • Communicate quality issues to production, engineering, and management teams.

    • Support continuous improvement and scrap reduction initiatives.

    • Follow all safety policies and maintain a clean work area.

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required; technical or associate degree preferred.

    • 2+ years of quality inspection experience in an automotive or manufacturing environment.

    • Experience with injection molding, stamping, machining, or assembly preferred.

    • Strong knowledge of GD&T and blueprint reading.

    • Familiarity with SPC, MSA, and basic statistical tools.

    • Experience working in an IATF 16949 environment is a plus.

    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and quality reporting systems.

    • Strong attention to detail and communication skills.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand for extended periods.

    • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

    • Visual acuity for detailed inspections.
