Shipping Clerk – 2nd Shift

Job Summary

The Shipping Clerk works in a fast-paced, high-volume shipping and warehouse environment. This position is responsible for accurate inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping and receiving, product handling, and maintaining efficient warehouse operations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assemble plumbing systems and fixtures, including spouts, valves, and showerheads.

• Complete inventory transactions using inventory management and ERP systems.

• Inspect finished and subassembly components to ensure quality standards are met.

• Notify supervisors of quality issues, discrepancies, and parts shortages.

• Pick, stage, pack, and prepare products for domestic, international, and freight shipments.

• Prepare shipping documents and coordinate freight pickups.

• Select economical shipping methods while meeting customer requirements.

• Obtain freight quotes from established vendors as needed.

• Package, box, wrap, strap, label, and prepare products and parts for shipment according to established procedures.

• Inspect incoming freight, document damage, and assist with freight claims.

• Receive purchased goods, verify quantities, locate products, and complete required inventory transactions.

• Pick parts and products from inventory locations to fulfill orders.

• Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages or low-stock items to appropriate departments.

• Perform cycle counts and assist in correcting inventory discrepancies.

• Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, push carts, and other material-handling equipment to move and load/unload products.

• Properly identify, locate, receive, and issue inventory.

• Use scanning equipment, shipping software, inventory systems, and other warehouse technology.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Minimum 6 months of related shipping, receiving, warehouse, or inventory experience preferred.

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.

• Forklift operation experience required.

• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, dependability, and organization.

• Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to communicate discrepancies.

• Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and warehouse equipment.

• Familiarity with inventory, ERP, or shipping software preferred.

• Ability to work overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to reach above and below shoulder level, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, and crawl as required.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds when necessary.

• Work may involve exposure to heat, cold, dust, and moderate noise.

• Must follow proper lifting techniques and all applicable safety procedures.

Work Environment & Accountability

The Shipping Clerk works closely with Production and Customer Service personnel. Under general supervision, the employee follows established procedures for routine work and receives direction on non-routine issues.

Following training, the Shipping Clerk is responsible for completing assigned shipping, receiving, inventory, and put-away activities accurately and efficiently within established shift expectations.
