2nd Shift Shipping Clerk

Description
Works closely with the Shipping Supervisor and Distribution Manager to ensure all daily shipping orders are processed and shipped correctly and on time. This position requires full time clerical work and daily warehouse duties as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Review shipping list and print pick slips as required to fulfill daily orders/shipping requirements
- Coordinate and stage pick slips in priority sequence for pickers
- Manage pick slips and direct to the correct shipping method
- Will ensure pick slip mode of transportation is selected correctly and all shipping notes or special shipping instructions are adhered to.
- Handles incoming calls, both external and internal and directs accordingly.
- Prints and executes Performa's, commercial invoices, BOL's, packing slips, etc. as required.
- Follows standard operating procedures.
- Transact inventory movements using inventory control system.
- Ensure FIFO is followed for all transactions.
- Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor or manager.
- Keeps area safe, clean and organized.
- Works with Customer Service, Supply Chain and Scheduling on backorder issues, order errors, clarification of shipping notes, etc.
- Perform domestic and international shipping activities.
- Scans and retains daily shipping documents.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
- Responsible for general housekeeping duties in the shipping area

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (required.)
- Prefer 2 + years shipping or receiving experience within a warehouse environment.
- Computer experience required.
- Experience with JDE/E1 preferred.
- Previous experience of a scan gun barcode reader is a preferred.
- Knowledge of Excel, Outlook, and Word strongly recommended.

- Specific speech abilities regularly required by this job include comprehensible speech.

Work Environment
- This position is subjected to harmful environmental conditions and is located in a manufacturing type environment.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- This position is Frequently exposed to extreme heat, vibration, and moving mechanical hazard; and Infrequently exposed to wet/humid conditions.
- This job consists of shift work up to 10 hours per day and may be required to work overtime as needed.
- Respirator fit testing and equipment is provided upon request of the employee.
