Responsible to follow and support all requirements included in the QMS/EMS Systems
Supervise crew leader
Arrive early each day to read emails in preparation for the day
Offer suggestions to the crew leader regarding daily manpower
Train new employees on: specification sheets, shrink charts, production forms, material identification tagging system, work in process and hold & scrap tagging system
Provide the proper tools and components
Approve & sign off on production report at the beginning of new production runs
Complete the 1st part inspection & provide/create the approved part
Complete the final part verification at the end of production run
Complete the required 2 hour part check and sign off that the product is within specification
Monitor production to ensure that volume standards (cycle times) are met or exceeded
Attend daily production/shift change meetings
Communicate with the maintenance department
Prioritize daily repairs/breakdowns
Maintain good housekeeping practices
Ensure a safe working environment is maintained
Coordinate sheet requirements with the extrusion department
Continue to seek out methods for improving production and reducing costs
Enforce company policies and work rules
Ensure break times are not exceeded
Maintain the tool crib organization & operation
Distribute tools, production tickets, and gloves to machine operators daily
Communicate job assignment information to machine operators daily
Check in tools and collect production tickets from previous shift
Perform quality checks and check pounds per hour at each extruder
Sign off and make sure changeovers are done correctly and efficiently
Perform quality checks for work in process jobs hourly
Ensure employees are reaching targets for work in process
Make shipping labels
Count sheet and parts for jobs that will be completed on 2nd or 3rd shift
Schedule sheet and adjust extrusion schedule when needed
Fill all 40 pound propane tanks and fill 20 pound propane tanks when needed
Fill out accident reports and provide transportation to medical facilities as needed
Communicate with the plant manager and other supervisors concerning any changes that might be made
Fill out manpower sheets for plastics and extrusion at the end of each day
Approve or deny call-in vacation and fill out absentee reports daily
Fill out production reports daily
Monitor operator scrap at wheels
Make a determination on whether or not to scrap out sheet or parts daily
Fill out non-conformance reports when applicable
Sign off on anything that comes in for receiving
Answer phone calls during the shift
Report to the Vacuum Form Production Manager
