Job description Job Description and Responsibilities Reporting to the Operations Manager, 2nd Shift, the Engineering Lead provides leadership and direction to all associates in the Engineering department, including pre-shift work planning and delegation/assignment of work each shift. Working collaboratively with the Senior Operations Manager and Coordinator, the Engineering Lead assists in ensuring that operations align with company-wide strategies and initiatives. Responsibilities Prepare and communicate daily work plans and goals based on facility needs and backlog priorityComplete all reporting required for pre and post shift and provide operational data from the Engineering processesWork closely with Operations Manager to achieve budgeted UPH and quality standardsFacilitate effective communication to associates in the department through daily huddlesPerform routine Engineering duties, including but not limited to scanning, counting, and stacking items onto carts/shelves, in a fast and accurate mannerMove product from overhead areas to stocking locations using a forklift or other equipmentResponsible for following and promoting all safety rules, regulations, and guidelines dailyEnsure that operations are aligned and performed to achieve all 2nd shift key performance indicators including productivity, quality, and safetyAssist, when needed, in managing the execution of all aspects of the Engineering, Next Pick, and Restock departmentsMonitor work processes to determine how current processes could be improved from a productivity, quality, or safety perspectiveOversee training activities for new associatesAssist in leading or performing other 2nd shift duties Requirements Requirements Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent1 year of related warehouse operations experience (preferred)Prior leadership experience strongly preferred Skills Proven ability to lead work teams successfully, while displaying core leadership skillsExcellent verbal/written communication skillsForklift certified or become forklift certified and be able to retain certificationGood problem-solving skillsIntermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office and Outlook)Excellent time management skillsAbility to create and maintain professional relationships with management, senior management, and corporate office personnel Physical and Environmental Requirements Stand for long period of time, up to 4 continuous hours, 8 - 12 hours during a shiftWalk up to 8 miles a day. Walking short distances through the department/buildingUse hands/arms to operate required equipment and repetitive motion activitiesLift objects up to 50 lbs. with or without assistanceCommunicate using writing, speech, sight, and sound with or without assistive device.Stoop or crouch while performing daily activities of the job.
