Job Summary
Reporting to the Team Lead and/or Production Manager, the Warehouse Operator will be part of our Warehouse/Operations team. The warehouse operator's responsibilities include reporting any broken, damaged, or malfunctioning warehouse equipment to management, taking inventory of all warehouse merchandise, and ensuring that fragile merchandise is suitably packed to prevent damage during transit. You should also be able to perform basic cleaning duties to keep the warehouse tidy.
To be successful as a warehouse operator, you should be detail-oriented, adept at operating forklifts, and able to stand for extended periods. Ultimately, an outstanding warehouse operator should adhere to all warehouse safety practices as well as demonstrate exceptional organizational, time management, and communication skills.
Essential Functions
- Must be able to perform all required scans and tasks in AS400
- Assisting the warehouse inventory controls, which typically involves using a hand-held scanner
- Must be able to troubleshoot and change out box labelers
- Must operate and troubleshoot Brenton (e.g. ensure it is clear of jams, boxes are formed and tapped)
- Shipping and receiving of finished goods and raw materials
- Ensure that all goods that are loaded or unloaded match the relevant paperwork
- Thoroughly inspecting goods for any damages and discrepancies
- Reporting any damaged or missing goods to the Production manager or Team Lead
- Keeping the warehouse clean and tidy and maintaining equipment
- Cycle counting and proper inventory management including storing and stock rotation according to established procedures
- Ensuring efficient operations by adhering to operational procedures, rules and schedules
- Always treating goods and raw materials with care and concern
- Drive a forklift and maintain the battery area clean and forklifts charged
- Must provide materials to the production team when requested
- Be able to perform all warehouse duties and train others as needed
- Responsible for proper documentation, recordkeeping and managing paperwork for all warehouse activities
- Must demonstrate accurate lock out/Tag out
- Team player, ability to adapt to changing demands, and must be a self-starter
- Must follow proper chemical procedure and usage for designated areas.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. independently and heavier weights with assistance.
- Walk, sit, stand for duration of 12- hour shifts with regular breaks.
- Climb stairs and steps as well as work at heights on platforms and walkways.
- Perform bending, squatting, kneeling, leaning, and reaching both ground level and overhead.
- Able to work in temperature variations (hot/cold environments) duration of 12-hours shift with regular breaks.
- Must be able to run multi lines for break and lunch coverage
- Perform other duties as assigned
