The Warehouse Worker – The job holder’s main purpose is to accurately retrieve and deliver products and ingredients according to the customers and companies demands.

At the direction of manager:

  • Retrieve Picking-List and Shipping Instructions for customer orders.
  • Retrieve Picking-List for manufacturing orders.
  • Retrieve Picking-List for sample orders.
  • Retrieve Picking-List and Shipping Instructions for FedEx orders.
  • Load Trucks
  • Retrieve Receiving-Slip.
  • Unload Trucks.
  • Printing of Bill of Ladings and Delivery Notes.
  • Retrieve, receive and load material from rack system via the company’s various Forklift, Hi-Lo Trucks and pallet jack equipment.
  • Identify, collect and retrieve material according to the Picking-List and Shipping Instructions and Receiving-Slip.
  • Use the company electronic Scanner System to accurately book movements, receiving and deliveries. Operating the company's scanner and computer ERP system for all warehouse movements.
  • Lift and transfer material bags from pallet to Picking-Pallets.
  • Picking Duties:
  • Verification of Picking-List and Shipping Instructions item information and quantities.
  • Picks and packs goods for customers, follows detailed Picking-List and Shipping Instructions.
  • Supply Pre-scaling personnel with needed bags.
  • Marking and labeling of pallet according to specification requirements.
  • Wrap finished picked pallet with the wrapping machine.
  • Storage of picked pallet to staging product locations.
  • Taking pictures of customer orders in truck.
  • Clean warehouse areas and maintain highest sanitary conditions of work area.
  • Verify equipment and floor for safety, cleanliness and performance.
  • Adhering to all SQF, cGMP, SSOP’s, Work safety and LOTO rules and regulations.
  • Understands and follows first in first out (FIFO).
  • Inspection of material condition maintain and check accurate inventory levels and product condition.
  • Inspecting product/pallets for proper identification and proper stacking.
  • Re-stack on new picking pallet according to specification.
  • Relocating of Pallets and bags to the appropriate warehouse locations
  • Complete, review and verify all documents for accuracy before handing to supervisor.
  • Receiving duties:
  • Assist delivery truck to docking bay.
  • Seal verification,
  • Inspection of truck condition,
  • Inspection of material condition via flash light and black light,
  • Matching of supplier and item information and quantities.
  • Checking of undamaged product according to company specification, refusal of loads that are not in acceptable condition.
  • Receiving of items: Marking and labeling of items according to specification requirements. Retrieving of samples including documentation and transport to the Quality Control department.
  • Works efficiently in a timely manner.
  • Works with safety in mind always.
  • Assists in maintaining and addresses damaged products according to procedures
  • Reports all deviations of product condition.
  • Works with all departments to assure safe quality food.
  • Completes required documentation and form accurately.
  • Communicate with Warehouse Manager any issues that may halt or slow productivity in your department.
  • Always maintain communication with Warehouse Manager regarding issues and questions that may have uncertainty.
  • Maintain visual and verbal communication with all team members to insure the highest degree of quality and productivity.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • High school diploma / GED or equivalent education
  • Minimum of one-year related position, experience in food manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Understands basic math, subtraction, division and multiplication
  • Must be able to accommodate both a night shift and day shift should the need arise.
  • Must be flexible when overtime is requested.
  • Perfect Cleanliness and Personal hygiene.
  • Must be able to operate all via the company’s various forklift, Hi-Lo-trucks and pallet jack equipment (Once trained and certified).
  • Does not suffer and/or does not have a history of food and dust allergies.
  • Able to lift 50 lb. for periods of time.
  • Able to be on your feet for long periods of time.
  • Can climb ladders to a height of 30 feet.
  • Able to read, write and speak English.
