POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
POSITION: 2nd Shift Waste Water Technician
DEPARTMENT:Waste Water
LOCATION:Ottumwa
SALARY CLASS:Non Exempt
HOURS: 2:00 PM - Midnight (Tuesday- Friday)
Responsibilities:
- Working in wastewater area for daily operational adjustments, equipment operations and recording data. Must be able to obtain an Iowa Grade 1 wastewater operator license within 18 months.
- Monitoring operating equipment & report any equipment problems.
- Recording equipment data.
- Help with lab testing
- Data entry of environmental data
- Operate sludge press
- General Housekeeping of Waste Water Plant area as is needed.
- Must be able to operate forklift as needed.
- Cover co-worker vacations as needed
- Work some holidays as needed (rotating with co-workers)
Qualification:
- Good communication skills.
- Previous experience helpful, but not required.
- Mechanical skills
- General Math Skills
- Working with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft word for data entry
- Self-Motivator
- Able to work unsupervised as required
- Able to work outside year round as needed
- Able to climb stairs
- Good attendance record (Less than 3.0 points, for internal candidates)
