2nd Shift Welder

Summary: Constructs and assembles metal components to support production and facility operations.
Location: Mesquite, TX Shift: 2nd Shift | 4:30 PM - 3 AM Monday–Thursday (Fridays as needed) Pay Rate: $16.00/hour
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Fabricate new or replacement metal parts and components for production
- Assemble component parts using hand tools and small power tools
- Perform first-piece and in-process inspections; make adjustments as needed to meet specifications and quality standards
- Ensure accurate machine operation
- Assist with equipment changeovers
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret welding symbols and terminology
- Ability to read and follow weldment assembly drawings
- Strong understanding of proper welding procedures
- Good hand-eye coordination and steady hands
- Physical strength and stamina
- Basic math skills; ability to read and understand blueprints
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Commitment to workplace safety
- Ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining professionalism
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: This position requires moderate walking, standing, climbing, lifting, and carrying, as well as frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work is performed around machinery with moving parts, moving objects, or vehicles. Exposure to heat, cold, dampness, humidity, and uneven or slippery surfaces is expected. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 2+ years of welding experience; certification or license preferred
- Forklift experience is a plus, but not required
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
