Shift: Monday-Thursday 4:30 pm - 2:00 am, overtime as needed Position Summary: To weld and fabricate parts in accordance with specifications and per company workmanship standards by performing the following functions. Essential Functions: • Analyze blueprints/drawings, specifications, sketches, work orders, and material safety data sheets to plan layout, assembly, and welding operations • Set up and adjust equipment • Perform efficient welding of various metal objects, including heavy and light gauge carbon steel, aluminum, and stainless, using both MIG and TIG equipment • Layout, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers • Report all non-conforming material to the Welding Team Leader and/or Shop Foreman immediately • Perform work with the help of various hand and power tools • Input and maintain data in ERP computer system/Global • Maintain weld equipment and supplies • Complete paperwork/job sheets required for the area • Must maintain excellent attendance, and expect to work overtime if the need requires • Performs other job-related duties as assigned Requirements: • HS education with a minimum of 2 years of welding experience • Possess a solid understanding of welding equipment and welding accessories • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, welding process specifications, and welding symbols • Must be able to operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes • Must have the ability to weld in all positions with good penetration and quality • Must be able to read a tape measure, pressure gauge, level,l, and square • Ability and willingness to follow directions as well as the ability to work independently • Excellent verbal communication skills • Basic computer skills |
