Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Welder to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on welding experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to read and follow blueprints, layouts, work orders, and other production instructions.
The Welder will fabricate and repair metal components using welding and flame-cutting equipment while maintaining high standards for safety, quality, and productivity.
Responsibilities
Weld metal components and parts using appropriate welding equipment and techniques.
Use hand-welding and flame-cutting equipment to weld, cut, trim, or scarf metal components to specified dimensions.
Read and interpret layouts, blueprints, diagrams, and work orders.
Position and secure parts using jigs, fixtures, clamps, and other equipment.
Select and properly set up welding equipment, electrodes, torches, filler rods, and related materials.
Perform welding in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions.
Repair broken or cracked components and fill holes or other imperfections using welding equipment.
Grind and remove excess weld, slag, and spatter using hand and power tools.
Prepare and clean metal surfaces before and after welding.
Inspect finished work to ensure it meets required specifications and quality standards.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Follow all safety procedures and required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Perform other duties related to welding and manufacturing as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Welding certification or vocational/trade school training preferred.
Approximately 2–5 years of manufacturing and/or welding experience preferred.
Ability to read and understand work instructions, blueprints, layouts, and written procedures.
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Reliable, dependable, and committed to producing quality work.
Must be able to successfully complete a hands-on welding skills test.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to bend, stoop, reach, climb, and work in various positions.
Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks.
Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to approximately 75 pounds.
Ability to safely work around welding equipment, tools, machinery, and metal materials.
Must be able to wear required PPE and work in a manufacturing environment.
