Wacousta Elementary is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a full-time 2nd Teacher. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the lead teacher to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for our students. This role involves supporting the academic and social development of 2nd-grade students, fostering a love for learning, and ensuring that each child reaches their full potential.
Responsibilities
Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
Support the individual needs of students through differentiated instruction and targeted interventions.
Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect.
Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and classroom activities.
Collaborate with other staff members to enhance the educational experience and support school-wide initiatives.
Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best teaching practices and educational trends.
Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
Support the implementation of classroom management strategies to promote positive behavior.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; valid teaching certification preferred.
Experience working with elementary-aged children, preferably in a classroom setting.
Strong understanding of child development and effective instructional strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that meets the diverse needs of students.
