    Job Summary

    Wacousta Elementary is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a full-time 2nd Teacher. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with the lead teacher to create a nurturing and engaging learning environment for our students. This role involves supporting the academic and social development of 2nd-grade students, fostering a love for learning, and ensuring that each child reaches their full potential.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
    • Support the individual needs of students through differentiated instruction and targeted interventions.
    • Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages student participation, collaboration, and respect.
    • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
    • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student performance and classroom activities.
    • Collaborate with other staff members to enhance the educational experience and support school-wide initiatives.
    • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best teaching practices and educational trends.
    • Help maintain a safe and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
    • Support the implementation of classroom management strategies to promote positive behavior.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field; valid teaching certification preferred.
    • Experience working with elementary-aged children, preferably in a classroom setting.
    • Strong understanding of child development and effective instructional strategies.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
    • Ability to create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that meets the diverse needs of students.
    • Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance learning.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
    • Commitment to fostering a love for learning and supporting the holistic development of each student.
