Responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosing, planning, implementation and evaluation. Responsible for directing and coordinating all nursing care based on established clinical nursing care for patients the medical surgical services based on established clinical nursing practice standards. Collaborates with other professional disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and the achievement of desired patient outcomes. Serves as the Resource nurse role when oriented and as directed. Supports the organization vision and mission. Utilizes knowledge of patient''s age, developmental status, spiritual and cultural diversity into the provision of patient care. Contributes to the provision of quality nursing care through performance improvement techniques that demonstrate positive outcomes in patient care.
Responsibilities
Patient Care & Assessment: Perform initial assessments and ongoing reassessments of patient needs. Develop, implement, and update individualized plans of care every 24 hours.
Clinical Intervention: Recognize signs of physical or behavioral changes and potential emergencies, initiating timely and appropriate interventions.
Safety & Compliance: Practice National Patient Safety Goals (NPSG). Implement risk prevention strategies for patient falls, skin breakdown, and restraint management.
Education & Discharge Planning: Provide comprehensive patient education and ensure follow-up instructions are clearly understood and documented prior to discharge.
Documentation: Maintain legible, timely, and accurate nursing documentation in accordance with diagnosis and practice standards.
Collaboration: Work effectively within an interdependent team to ensure continuity of care and professional, courteous communication with coworkers, physicians, and the public.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
Licensure: Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year of acute care experience.
Certifications:
BCLS, ACLS (required from AHA)
Basic Dysrhythmia Certification, and NIHS Stroke Certification.
Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills, strong leadership, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
