TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified ICU/Critical Care RN in Santa Cruz, California, 95065!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: ICU (Intensive Care Unit) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ICU experience License: Current nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS preferred Must-Have: 2 years of ICU experience required Description: Unit with 16 beds that can expand to 20 beds. Certifications preferred include BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, and CCRN. Nurse-patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2. Electronic Medical Record system used is Cerner. Charge nurses do not carry patients. No nurse aides on the unit. Weekend requirement includes working every other weekend and filling in gaps in weekend schedule. On-call duty requires a 30-minute response time and is based on census; call duties align with originally scheduled shifts. Holiday scheduling is part of the agreement. Scrub color required is navy. Telehealth equipment used is Phillips. Ventilators are Draeger Vent systems as per respiratory therapy team. A 24-hour intensivist is available on call during the night. IV team is available during the day. Respiratory therapy and pharmacy services are available 24/7. Shift assignments may include on-call based on staffing needs, mostly consisting of 12-hour shifts. Floating may occur to telemetry with a 4 to 1 ratio. Floor-specific orientation consists of 2 shifts in the ICU, followed by independent practice on the third shift. Common diagnoses and patient types include adults and pediatrics with medical-surgical, neurological, balloon pumps, craniectomies, occasional ICP monitoring, CABG, certain trauma cases, and psychiatric issues. Additional procedures may include TPA administration, hypothermia treatment, ECMO, Impella, CRRT using PrismaFlex, TAVR, and EVAR. Participation in carotid stenting, ECOS, and IABP management is not mandatory but would require check-off for competency if experienced. Cancellation policy allows for the hospital to cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment. Charting system utilized is Cerner. BSN is not required. Nursing division operates within an acute care setting.
