Description:

CTG's long-standing Fortune 500 client of over 15 years has a W2 contract assignment for a 3D Print Technician/Operator.

 

Join a growing cleanroom manufacturing environment supporting advanced optical ribbon and fiber optic cable production. This hands-on role combines 3D printing, mechanical design, equipment support, and manufacturing process optimization in a fast-paced production setting.

Job Title: 3D Print Technician/Operator
Location: Newton, NC
Candidates must be able to commute and work onsite in Newton, NC

Pay Rate: Based on experience
Work Hours: M-F 8am-5pm, occasional OT and weekend
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Engineering Technology or related field preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor cleanroom optical ribbon and cable manufacturing processes
• Create, print, and test 3D models using Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks
• Support equipment troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and process optimization
• Perform QA checks and monitor production quality metrics
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams on equipment improvements and process enhancements
• Support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective action activities

Required Qualifications

• Strong Autodesk Inventor 3D modeling and SolidWorks experience
• Hands-on experience with 3D printing, mechanical component design, and testing
• Knowledge of SPC, MES, and process data analysis
• Ability to read technical documentation and manufacturing specifications
• Understanding of cleanroom operations and contamination control
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with optical fiber handling, ribbonization, or precision manufacturing equipment
• Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
• Experience supporting production scale-up in a cleanroom environment

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and work on the manufacturing floor for extended periods
• Manual dexterity for precision equipment adjustments and fiber handling
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
• Ability to wear cleanroom garments for the full shift
