Jefferson Davis County School District Classroom Teacher

Reports to: Directly to the building-level principal

Qualifications:

  • Valid Teacher's License
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students, school personnel, and parents
  • Ability to work cooperatively with others
  • Ability to motivate students and get them excited about learning

Essential Functions:

  • Implement the assigned program of study (MS College and Career Readiness Standards)
  • Fosters a classroom climate conducive to learning
  • Utilizes instructional management systems that increase student learning and maximize time on task
  • Monitors student progress towards achieving instructional competencies and objectives
  • Communicates effectively within the educational community and with parents on a regular basis
  • Meets professional responsibilities including any appointed committee selections
  • Maintains and upgrades professional skills
  • Maintains professional work habits
  • Promotes and maintains positive pupil-teacher-parent relationships
  • Adheres to the teacher code of conduct
  • Responsible for classroom fixed asset inventory
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned by the classroom teacher and the building-level principal
  • Timely reporting of student data (Rti process, grades, absences, etc.)
  • Adheres to the teacher code of ethics

Other Functions:

Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of instruction by the assigned building-level principal.

Terms of Employment: Salary and work year to be established by the School Board Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated by the building-level administration with provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel utilizing PROFESSIONAL GROWTH SYSTEM guidelines.
