3rd Shift Custodian Supervisor (Year-Round)

The Custodian Supervisor - Night Shift coordinates and supervises overnight custodial operations, with shifts scheduled in varying combinations between 7:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. This position provides hands-on leadership to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard; adjusts assignments based on absences, time off, and changing campus needs; directs group cleaning activities in the Directors absence; and leads by example by working alongside the team and providing basic training and guidance as needed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Supervises and Coordinates 3rd shift team cleaning efforts.
• Complies with ICA policies/procedures.
• Respects the culture, diversity and rights of all students, their families and the community.
• Prioritizes duties in a manner consistent with organizational objectives and growth.
• Responsible for training new employees.
• Creates a positive working relationship with 3rd shift custodial staff.
• Hands on supervisor, willing to assist and perform custodial duties as necessary.
• Inspects completed work and provides assistance with work techniques.
• Assists with computer based programs for custodial operations.
• Safely operates vehicles and other job related equipment.
• Assure compliance with OSHA standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience required.
• Familiarity with vacuums, floor-cleaning machines, and basic cleaning equipment.
• Familiarity with Interlochen campus locations preferred.
• Ability to follow and execute specific verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Knowledge of OSHA standards related to the cleaning industry.
• Working knowledge of custodial equipment.
• Ability to use a smartphone, iPad, or Mac computer to complete work orders and cleaning assignments.
• Ability to navigate the entire campus to coordinate work across campus building locations.
• Ability to promote and maintain positive interactions with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong work ethic and exemplary attendance.
