3RD SHIFT EXTRUSION MACHINE OPERATOR

A plastic extrusion operator forms everyday products from raw resins with specially set machinery.

An extrusion operator is responsible for assisting with cleaning, assembly, disassembly, and maintenance of extrusion and ancillary equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Notify other workers of defects and direct them to adjust extrusion and conversion machines.
• Clean and maintain extrusion and conversion machines, using hand tools.
• Set up and operate extrusion lines.
• Move controls to activate and adjust extrusion and conversion machines.
• Press buttons to stop machines when processes are complete or when malfunctions are detected.
• Maintain an adequate supply of raw materials to the extrusion line.
• Assist with production set up.
• Assist with quality measurements.
• Assist with packaging and manufacturing support.
• Operation of extrusion and ancillary equipment.
• Documentation of process parameters and quality checks
• Debugging and modification of tooling.

Requirements

• Familiarity with extrusion equipment and other machinery
• Basic knowledge of plastics
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work long hours in a stressful environment
• Use of basic tools
• Ability to work with hot plastics
• Ability to perform other duties, as required
• Understanding of ISO requirements
