Hours:
10:00 pm 6:30 am, Monday - Friday
Pay:
$23.00 - $26.00/hour, based on experience
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare test samples according to established procedures using precision tools such as cutters, laser cutters, sputter coaters, etc.
- Perform line in-process inspections and laboratory tests.
- Use precision instruments including micrometers, drop-gauges, electrical Hipot testers, tensile testers, and other film property testing equipment.
- Record and analyze inspection and test data.
- Report defects and compile inspection results for company-wide reporting.
- Follow safety protocols during electrical, heat, oil testing, and material handling activities.
- Support extrusion operations approximately 20% of the time in a manufacturing technician role.
- Maintain PPE compliance and safety standards during all operations.
Minimum Qualifications:- High School diploma, Associates, or other post-secondary education preferred
- 3+ years of experience in plastics manufacturing or quality control environment
- Experience in a materials testing laboratory or quality assurance setting
- Plastics processing experience (extrusion, cast or blown film, calendaring, injection molding, etc.)
- Electrical/mechanical aptitude is a strong plus
- Ability to perform basic measurements and math calculations
- Strong attention to detail and computer skills including data entry
- Willingness to learn new test methods and equipment
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely
- Previous experience working off-shift
- Experience operating tow motors or material handling equipment such as pallet jacks
Nice to Have Skills:- Electrical and mechanical aptitude
- Experience with lab or quality testing in manufacturing, chemical, or medical fields
- Familiarity with testing software and precise measurement tools
Preferred Education and Experience:- Post-secondary education (preferred but not required)
- 3+ years in plastics quality control or manufacturing
Other Requirements:- Must be on-site at Valley View facility
- Ability to work the 3rd shift (10 pm 6:30 am)
- Willing to perform various quality inspections including electrical, heat, oil, and physical measurements
- Computer literacy and adaptability to new software
