3rd Shift Extrusion Technician

We are seeking experienced, detail-oriented extrusion professionals for an exciting opportunity in Valley View, OH. If you have a background in plastics processing, extrusion equipment, and enjoy working in a technical environment, we want to hear from you.

Hours:
10:00pm – 6:30am, Sunday - Thursday

Pay:
$23.00 - $26.00/hour, based on experience

Key Responsibilities:

• Support film extrusion by setting up and operating equipment, tooling, and changing over products
• Monitor and adjust computerized systems for batch recipes, film thickness, and quality
• Recognize and document defects or deviations, escalating issues to ensure quality and process integrity
• Recommend and implement solutions for equipment and process problems
• Maintain organized workspaces for efficient cleaning, inspection, and daily operations
• Handle raw materials, finished goods, and work-in-progress efficiently
• Follow safety and work instructions to maintain quality and consistency
• Adapt to changing team structures and responsibilities as operations evolve
• Develop mechanical understanding of the extrusion process for career growth

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED, or 4+ years manufacturing experience
• 1+ years experience in plastics processing (extrusion, cast or blown film, calendaring, injection molding, etc.)
• Attention to detail and precision in work
• Computer literacy, especially with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Basic math, measurements, and metrology skills
• Electrical and/or mechanical aptitude preferred
• Experience operating material handling equipment, such as a tow motor or pallet jack
• Previous experience in off-shift roles
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and stand/work for extended periods
• Eagerness to learn and grow within the role
• Flexibility to adapt to evolving priorities and procedures

Nice to Have Skills:

• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Experience working in a lab environment
• Certifications related to manufacturing or plastics processing

Preferred Education and Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 1+ year experience in plastics extrusion or similar processing roles

Other Requirements:

• Must be able to work on-site at Valley View, OH
• Reliable transportation and punctuality required

This role is for a highly capable extrusion technician, someone with a professional background in plastics processing. Candidates should be comfortable using computers daily, including MS Excel. They must understand and adjust computerized operator settings, and ultimately manage all aspects of extrusion equipment – from setup and tooling to maintenance and calibration.

The work environment is clean and lab-like, though sometimes noisy. We’re looking for well-spoken, mature candidates with a strong work history, a desire to learn, and potential to develop into future film extrusion experts.
