Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Ink Department Technician to join a growing manufacturing team in Pittsburg, Kansas. This position is responsible for mixing, testing, labeling, and staging inks to ensure production meets customer color specifications and quality standards.

The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, enjoys working in a technical manufacturing environment, and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
Required Experience & Skills
High school diploma or GED required
1 3 years of manufacturing or technical experience preferred
Trade or technical training is a plus
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Basic math skills including ratios, percentages, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
Ability to read and follow work instructions and communicate effectively
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic required
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Mix, verify, label, and stage inks according to production schedules and color standards
Maintain ink inventory and assist with hazardous waste storage procedures
Prepare press-ready inks within required tolerances
Maintain ink formulas, databases, and sample records
Assist with press approvals and production readiness
Support research, development, and continuous improvement initiatives
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce ink costs
Participate in production planning and pre-press meetings
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Follow all company safety procedures, environmental regulations, and quality standards
Preferred Qualifications
Experience handling inks, chemicals, coatings, or similar materials
Experience using scales, densitometers, light booths, or other measuring equipment
Familiarity with manufacturing quality systems
Experience operating hand trucks, barrel dollies, or material handling equipment
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements
Frequent standing, reaching, and detailed hand work throughout the shift
Occasional walking, climbing, balancing, kneeling, and crouching
Ability to lift up to 100 lbs occasionally
Strong color vision, depth perception, and visual accuracy required
Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment and chemicals
Work Environment
Manufacturing facility with production equipment and industrial materials
Exposure to inks, chemicals, industrial noise, and moving equipment
Fast-paced production environment focused on quality, accuracy, and safety
PPE required in accordance with company safety policies and regulatory requirements
