3rd Shift Operations Team Leader (Manufacturing Supervisor)
Location: Greenwich, NY

Schedule: Sunday night through Friday morning

A well-established manufacturing company in Greenwich, NY is seeking an experienced 3rd Shift Operations Team Leader to take ownership of overnight production operations.
This is not a position for someone who simply wants to oversee production from a distance. The company needs a hands-on leader who can set expectations, coach employees, address performance issues, maintain accountability, and keep the shift operating safely and efficiently.
The right candidate will bring structure, consistency, and strong leadership to an established overnight production team. You will work independently with limited supervision while keeping management informed of production results, staffing concerns, downtime, safety issues, and equipment needs.
Schedule
The position runs Sunday night through Friday morning.
- Sunday report time: approximately 10:30 PM for mill start-up
- Regular shift: approximately 11:00 PM–7:30 AM
- Some additional time may be required for start-up, shift turnover, documentation, and communication with leadership
What You Will Be Responsible For
- Lead, mentor, and support employees throughout the overnight shift
- Assign work and manage daily production priorities
- Hold employees accountable for safety, attendance, performance, quality, and productivity
- Coach and develop team members while addressing concerns professionally
- Monitor production output, downtime, quality, cost, safety, and team morale
- Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient production environment
- Work with machine operators to track production activity and equipment downtime
- Identify operational problems and respond calmly and effectively
- Troubleshoot mechanical or production issues when needed
- Complete production entries, shift reports, timekeeping records, and other required documentation
- Communicate production results, staffing concerns, equipment issues, and outstanding priorities to management
- Assist with employee relations, conflict resolution, investigations, and performance management
- Support housekeeping expectations and daily shift turnover
- Operate production equipment when necessary to support the team

What We Are Looking For
The strongest candidates will have previous leadership experience in a manufacturing, production, converting, paper, packaging, printing, or similar industrial environment.
You should be able to:
- Lead an overnight crew with limited supervision

- Communicate effectively with both hourly employees and management
- Make sound decisions in a fast-paced production environment
- Balance safety, quality, productivity, cost, and employee morale
- Stay organized while managing multiple priorities
- Complete reports and production documentation accurately
- Resolve employee conflicts professionally
- Maintain a consistent and visible leadership presence on the production floor
Required Qualifications
- Previous team lead, shift lead, production supervisor, operations lead, or manufacturing leadership experience
- Experience working in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment
- Strong leadership, communication, and performance-management skills
- Ability to work the full overnight schedule
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Strong safety awareness and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize production needs in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using computer systems to complete production records, reports, and timekeeping tasks
Preferred Qualifications
- Mechanical troubleshooting experience
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance concepts
- Experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, bearings, seals, gears, chains, sprockets, and industrial tools
- Paper mill, tissue converting, packaging, printing, or related production experience
- Forklift certification
- OSHA 30 certification
- Electrical knowledge
- Experience with NetSuite, UKG, CMMS, or similar production and workforce systems
