3rd Shift OpeningsPosition SummaryThe Pre-Weigher I is responsible for accurately weighing, dispensing, labeling, and staging raw materials used in the manufacture of bulk products. This position plays a critical role in ensuring product quality, inventory accuracy, and compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), customer requirements, and company procedures.The Pre-Weigher handles high-value raw materials and must maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Errors in weighing, handling, documentation, or inventory transactions can result in significant product loss, production delays, and regulatory compliance risks. The ideal candidate is organized, safety-conscious, and capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesMaterial Weighing & Dispensing

Review pick lists and manufacturing documentation to identify required materials.Accurately weigh and dispense raw materials according to batch records, formulas, and work instructions.Label, package, stage, and palletize weighed materials for production use.Ensure all materials are handled safely and accurately to prevent contamination, damage, or product loss.Provide materials to Manufacturing, Quality Control, Research & Development, and batch adjustment activities as needed.Repackage and return unused materials to designated storage locations.

Inventory Control

Locate, retrieve, and transfer materials between warehouse, storage, and production areas.Maintain inventory accuracy through proper material transactions and documentation.Perform cycle counts and assist in resolving inventory discrepancies.Notify supervision of material shortages, damaged materials, or inventory variances.Utilize inventory management systems to track material movements and transactions.

Documentation & Compliance

Complete all batch records, dispensing documentation, inventory transactions, and required logs accurately and timely.Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), quality standards, and safety requirements.Maintain complete traceability of materials throughout the weighing and dispensing process.Ensure compliance with FDA, customer, and company requirements.

Equipment Operation

Verify scale calibration and performance to ensure weighing accuracy.Operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.Conduct routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance checks.Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.

Safety & Housekeeping

Comply with all company safety policies and environmental procedures.Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators when required.Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.Handle chemicals and raw materials safely and in accordance with established procedures.Participate in safety initiatives and continuous improvement programs.

General Responsibilities

Collaborate with Warehouse, Compounding, Quality, Production, and R&D teams to support manufacturing schedules.Demonstrate flexibility in supporting business and production needs.Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED.Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, inventory control, or material handling environment.Basic understanding of inventory control principles and material handling practices.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to read, understand, and follow written procedures and work instructions.Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and inventory management systems.Strong mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and unit conversions.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in cosmetics, personal care, pharmaceutical, food, or other FDA-regulated manufacturing environments.Experience using ERP or MRP inventory systems.Forklift certification and material handling experience.Experience handling chemicals, powders, liquids, fragrances, and bulk raw materials.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.Ability to handle and maneuver 55-gallon drums safely.Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and reach for extended periods.Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators when necessary.Ability to work safely with manufacturing ingredients, chemicals, and raw materials.

Work Environment

Fast-paced manufacturing and compounding environment.Frequent exposure to raw materials, chemicals, fragrances, and manufacturing ingredients.Moderate to heavy forklift and material handling traffic.Moderate noise levels and industrial working conditions.Regular interaction with Manufacturing, Warehouse, Quality, and R&D personnel.
