This position requires focus on the assigned production department within the Operations Function. Responsible for supervision of the daily operations of the assigned Department, including but not limited to training of lead employees, record and inventory review, meeting HACCP requirements, planning and communication with other departments.
Essential Functions
Communicate/Coordinate/Supervise department's daily work tasks to meet requirements and objectives
Train lead persons in all job requirements, including supervisory responsibilities
Ensure that all employees in the department are trained and understand the process to be fully qualified to perform the job
Work with department managers to plan work and allocate labor to fulfill operations needs within scheduled shift and minimizing need for overtime
Confers with Management, HR, and employees on departmental problems, and recommends changes or work practices to improve department standards
Tracks KPIs and compiles required reports
Documents steps taken to resolve deficiencies. Participates or leads continuous improvement projects, as needed
Completes daily timesheets and scheduled time off for employees in a timely and accurate manner
Ensures that employees adhere to company policies and work rules.
Coach, develop, and provide continuous feedback to employees. Conducts employee performance evaluations as scheduled
Conducts disciplinary actions of department employees in coordination with the Human Resources Department.
Represents Department at company meetings, functions and/or activities
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or GED. Holds relevant Certificate or Industry Certification and/or completion of post secondary classes
Knowledge of food processing and at least 3 years of experience in similar environment
Minimum 2-3 years experience supervising and leading a group of employees in a manufacturing environment

HACCP certification a plus
Physical Demands
Must be able to lift overhead up to 30 pounds
Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended periods in refrigerated environment as well as in cooking areas
Ability to work with industrial strength cleaning chemicals
Work Environment
Must be able to work in a refrigerated or cooking environment
Must be able to work in a meat-processing environment
