SANITATION SUPERVISOR

Overview Summary This position will be responsible for overseeing the Sanitation Department. Which consists of cleaning and sanitizing the plant to maintain conformance to USDA standards within a schedule to ensure maximum operating time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees daily operations of the sanitation department.
• Monitor and confirm that machinery equipment and facilities are properly maintained and sanitized for efficient production.
• Arrange to have appropriate records prepared and maintained.
• Work closely with production supervisors and management.
• Supervises, train, and develop sanitation team members.
• Develop and follow sanitation procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), USDA, and FDA regulations for all sanitation tasks.
• Set up stock and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies.
• Comply with, understand, and enforce all company policies and standards.
• Enforce and follow all Food Safety and Plant Safety policies, practices, and protocols.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous Sanitation experience is required.
• Prior experience in a food manufacturing plant or similar meat experience strongly preferred.
• Current or previous management or supervisor experience.
• Extensive knowledge and technical skill in sanitation and meat processing jobs and chemicals.
• Managerial skills, good interpersonal relations, ability to handle conflict.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Team Player with leadership skills.
• Experience in leading groups of manufacturing employees, including setting team and individual objectives, managing individual and team performance, and building a team approach to problem solving.
• Outstanding communication skills in order to lead, engage, and motivate individuals and/or teams.
• A thorough understanding of manufacturing principles and leadership applications within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Detail oriented and strong analytical skills.
• Highly organized.
• Spanish/English bilingual desired but not required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Frequent sitting, standing, and walking which may be required for long periods of time.
• Slippery floors, cold temperatures, and loud ambient noise.
• Required ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
• Safely handling and being exposed to chemicals.
• May be exposed to stressful situations and schedule changes.
• Occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs unassisted.

The applicant who fills this position will be eligible for the following compensation and benefits:

Base annual salary range: $63,000 - $68,000
