Job Description
- Follow all company safety protocols and use required PPE to maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Read and interpret specifications to identify proper materials, coatings, and metal types.
- Prepare workpieces by laying out parts, masking surfaces, and setting up painting areas.
- Perform surface preparation techniques including degreasing, derusting, phosphatizing, and wheelabrating.
- Mix paint to the proper viscosity, fill tanks, and adjust spray guns for optimal finish, coverage, and efficiency.
- Apply coatings using spray equipment to achieve high-quality, consistent finishes per job specifications.
- Operate painting and finishing equipment while meeting production and quality standards.
- Inspect painted parts for defects using quality procedures; record results and correct issues as directed.
- Maintain accurate production records, inspection reports, and job documentation.
- Perform routine equipment checks and follow preventive maintenance procedures.
- Contribute to process improvement by minimizing waste and eliminating non-value-added activities.
- Collaborate with team members and participate in cross-training as needed.
