Purpose

NEP Group is currently seeking a 401k & Benefit Specialist that is responsible for the administration, compliance, and day-to day management of the 401k retirement plan. This role ensures accurate plan administration, regulatory compliance. This position also provides daily support for the broader US employee health and welfare benefit plans, leads Open Enrollment, file feed management, monthly vendor invoice payments, and assistance to employee’s questions, and claim issue resolution.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Administer and oversee all aspects of the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
• Process and review retirement plan transactions for accuracy and timeliness.
• Coordinate with payroll team to ensure accurate 401k employee and employer contributions.
• Ensure 401k plan compliance with IRS, ERISA, Department of Labor (DOL), and other applicable regulations.
• Lead the annual compliance testing, match true up, plan audit, Form 5500 filing, and plan reporting requirements.
• Ensure 401k plan compliance with the plan document and SPD and oversee document updates, amendments, and regulatory changes under the direction of the Director of Benefits.
• Partner with 401k plan recordkeepers, investment advisors, and payroll providers.
• Implements 401k plan enhancements and process improvements.
• Generate and analyze 401k plan reports and participation metrics.
• Reconcile 401k plan contributions and payroll deductions.
• Generates and authors needed reports and analyzes data critically to support department with general administration as well as strategic decisions.
• Prepares insurance invoices for accurate payment and assists with HSA funding.
• Manages the weekly file feed of changes and adjustments between Benefitsolver and ADP
• Leads Open Enrollment benefit configuration and testing.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field preferred
  • 2-5 years of experience administering 401(k) plans.
  • Knowledge of ERISA, IRS regulations, and retirement plan compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with retirement plan recordkeeping systems and payroll platforms.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of employee benefits regulations and compliance requirements
  • Understanding of HR practices and principles
  • Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret data, identity trends, and draw meaningful insights.
  • Technical proficiency with expertise with HRIS/Payroll/Ben Admin systems, Vendor/Employer systems, data analysis tools, and report writing.
