What Youll Do:
Prepare, dispense, and verify medication orders per physician requests following hospital protocols.
Interpret verbal and written drug orders, maintaining accurate patient medication records.
Compound both sterile and non-sterile pharmaceuticals, including chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition.
Issue controlled substances and ensure compliance with legal and institutional policies.
Monitor patient drug therapies, including anticoagulation, renal dosing, and pharmacokinetic consults.
Provide clinical drug information to healthcare providers, participating in interdisciplinary rounds.
Educate patients and their families on medication use and safety.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, medication reviews, and stewardship programs.
Supervise pharmacy support staff and verify technicians' daily activities.
What You Need:
Valid Louisiana pharmacy license
BLS certification (AHA) required; ACLS preferred
Doctor of Pharmacy or BS Pharmacy degree required
Hospital pharmacy experience is a plus, especially in ICU, emergency, behavioral health, or orthopedic settings
Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and ability to work flexible shifts
