Our client is seeking a skilled DevOps Engineer to join their team and assist in the migration and deployment of applications in an on-prem cloud infrastructure. The role involves collaborating with application developers to create deployments, set up common services, and recommend solutions to optimize hardware resource usage. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) tools and software, along with a strong background in container technologies, CI/CD, and monitoring tools.
Responsibilities:
Assist in the deployment and migration of applications within an on-prem cloud infrastructure.
Collaborate with application developers to create deployments and set up common services.
Recommend and implement solutions for maximizing hardware resource efficiency.
Work with container technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, and containerd.
Utilize CI/CD tools like GitLab and Jenkins for application deployment.
Implement monitoring solutions using tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
Provision storage solutions (e.g., OpenEBS, Gluster) and manage data backup and restore operations.
Provide support for Linux-based systems, preferably CentOS.
Build and maintain automation tools for repetitive tasks.
Monitor metrics using tools such as Elastic.
Must Haves:
BS in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Proven experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, containerd, etc.).
Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools (GitLab, Jenkins, etc.).
Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, etc.).
Expertise in storage provisioning and data backup/restore (e.g., OpenEBS, Gluster).
Proficiency in Linux systems (CentOS preferred).
Strong programming skills in both dynamic and compiled languages.
Experience in building automation tools for repetitive tasks.
Familiarity with metrics tools (e.g., Elastic).

Nice to Haves:
Experience with microservices architecture and design.
Proven ability to work in an agile, collaborative environment that supports rapidly changing requirements.
Location: Fairfax, VA or Aurora, CO.
