The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Hospital Laboratory Technician 2 to support the operations of the Core Laboratory. In this vital role, you will provide a combination of technical, administrative, and maintenance support to ensure the lab functions smoothly and efficiently. Primary responsibilities include:
xe2x80xa2 Performing pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical tasks, including specimen preparation and troubleshooting test-related issues.
xe2x80xa2 Assisting with reagent preparation and inventory management.
xe2x80xa2 Monitoring and documenting laboratory temperatures.
xe2x80xa2 Cleaning, organizing, and maintaining work areas and equipment.
xe2x80xa2 Supporting quality control and quality assurance activities.
xe2x80xa2 Performing computer-based tasks related to the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS).
Salary Range: $34.41 - $45.38/hour

xe2x80xa2 High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., GED or HiSET).
xe2x80xa2 Prior experience handling patient specimens.
xe2x80xa2 Strong knowledge of reagent preparation, quality control protocols, and instrument maintenance.
xe2x80xa2 Proficiency in using laboratory and hospital information systems.
xe2x80xa2 Competence in Microsoft Office Suite.
xe2x80xa2 Physical ability to lift and move lab equipment, transport reagents and supplies, and perform repetitive motions (e.g., pipetting).
xe2x80xa2 Ability to work in a lab environment with variable temperatures, instrument noise, and potential exposure to hazardous chemicals, fumes, and biological agents.
xe2x80xa2 Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
xe2x80xa2 Experience operating moderate to high-volume chemistry analyzers is highly preferred.
xe2x80xa2 Ability to troubleshoot and repair instruments and lab equipment is preferred.
