Special Education Instructional Aide - 4K-7th Grade
The White Lake School District is seeking a qualified, caring, and motivated Special Education Instructional Aide to support student success in grades 4K-7. This individual will work directly with students who require additional academic, behavioral, social, and emotional support throughout the school day.
The Special Education Instructional Aide will provide 1:1 support for specific students, assist students within the general education classroom, and help implement accommodations, interventions, and supports as directed by special education and classroom teachers. This position plays an important role in helping students access instruction, build independence, and experience success in the school setting.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
- Provide 1:1 support to assigned students based on individual student needs.
- Support students in general education classrooms through push-in support.
- Assist students with academic tasks, classroom routines, organization, transitions, and daily expectations.
- Support the implementation of student IEP goals, accommodations, behavior plans, and intervention strategies.
- Assist with data collection, progress monitoring, and documentation as directed by licensed staff.
- Help students develop independence, positive behavior, communication skills, and appropriate peer interactions.
- Collaborate with special education teachers, classroom teachers, related service providers, and administration.
- Supervise and support students during recess, lunch, transitions, and other school activities as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when working with students, families, and staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal or special education staff.
