About Our School
Woods School is nestled between the northern and southern shorelines of Geneva Lake and Lake Como, just west of the City of Lake Geneva. The school serves approximately 150 students, many of which have chosen our school via Open Enrollment. Founded in 1858, Woods School is one of the oldest continously operating K-8 Schools in the state of Wisconsin and has a long, proud tradition of excellence.
The Role and Ideal Candidate
We are seeking a collaborative, visionary team player to serve as our school Principal and provide outstanding instructional leadership. Previous leadership experience is preferred, but not required. This position reports directly to the District Administrator.
Instructional Leadership:
Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of curriculum, instruction, and assessment practices aligned with Wisconsin Academic Standards.
Support high-quality instructional practices and promote student academic growth and achievement.
Analyze student performance data to guide instructional decisions and school improvement efforts.
Coordinate and oversee intervention systems and support for students.
Facilitate staff collaboration and professional development opportunities.
Support the integration of technology and innovative instructional practices.
School Climate and Support:
Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive school culture.
Build strong relationships with students, families, and staff.
Promote student responsibility, citizenship, and positive behavior.
Oversee student discipline in accordance with district policy and Wisconsin law.
Ensure a safe, orderly, and welcoming learning environment.
Staff Supervision and Leadership:
Supervise and evaluate certified and support staff.
Assist in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and retaining quality personnel.
Encourage teamwork, collaboration, and professional growth among staff.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in personnel matters.
Support staff in addressing student academic and behavioral needs.
Operations and School Management
Oversee the daily operations of Woods School in collaboration with the District Administrator
Coordinate state and local assessments, required reporting, and compliance activities
Assist District Administrator in ensuring compliance with special education, Section 504, Title IX, student confidentiality and other legal requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
